Escape Room Aurum is the next step in escape room experiences. We have worked extremely hard for three years with the aim of offering you an unforgettable experience. At Aurum you will find no locks and no puzzles like you are used to, it's all about cooperation. We want everyone to be involved in every challenge, so we set up each puzzle based on the number of players you come with.

Go back 150 years in time

Escape Room Aurum is about the Order of the Golden Dawn. A secret society that really existed and was founded in London in 1884. Its influential members established temples in various locations. Little is known about the Order's goals, although it is rumoured that they tried to make gold. In the late 1930s, the Order disappeared again and most temples were closed. No one knows if they succeeded in making gold.... Can you find out in 75 minutes?

Reviews Backspace Escape Rooms

The aesthetic throughout the game was a bulls-eye for my tastes, and rarely seen as well done as this experience. In learning how the game was configured after playing it, I was even more impressed with the engineering, artistry and craftsmanship.

Aurum is a really cool room! Set looks good, good use of light and sound, nice effects, story makes sense, top!
Persephone on EscapeTalk
The story, the experience, the beautifully integrated sets and varied puzzles are more than enough to leave even experienced escape teams filled with wonder. Absolutely recommended!
Gitske on EscapeTalk
A hidden gem... The room itself is full of special puzzles worked out in a fun and original way. The room itself is really focused on cooperation and communication. Fine room that may well be a bit higher in this ranking....
Elfeater on EscapeTalk
What a fat room! The room itself is really cool. The story and purpose are clear. The experience is really nice and the whole setting is to be enjoyed. There is also very good use of light and sound. At times a cinematic experience.
Najima
Fun, challenging, exciting and not obvious!

BackSpace Escape Rooms built an unusual game world, and filled it with nifty interactions that we were delighted to share with one another. Aurum: Order of Gold was a mechanics-forward game with an undercurrent of narrative, and it came together in a well-executed package. I highly recommend playing this game if you're in Amsterdam.

Beautiful design and surprising technical effects. Challenging puzzles where every type of player is catered for, the puzzler, the finder, the smarter, the correlator etc.

Frequently asked questions

You will find frequently asked questions below, but feel free to call us (020 - 7373126).

Aurum is different from our other escape rooms. It is a spectacular experience. The challenges in Aurum are not escape room puzzles like you might be used to. There is nothing hidden in the room and there are no combination locks. Escape Room Aurum is mostly about the group. You really have to work together to solve the challenges. Sounds good? Book it!

Sure! Do you like escape rooms with a story, effects and decoration? And do you have a group that enjoys working together? Immediately books ;)! We dare to promise that there will be something in it that you haven't seen or experienced before.

Aurum is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. For people with physical complaints, it is especially important to pay attention and be careful. It can be dark, so you need to pay close attention to thresholds.

You play Aurum with 3, 4 or 5 players. The challenges are adapted to the exact number of players. More or fewer players is unfortunately not possible.

Aurum is definitely not a horror room. But it is exciting at times. That is why, after you have booked, you will receive a link to our Aurum faq. Then you can decide in advance whether you already want to know what will happen. That way we keep it fun for everyone.

Aurum lasts about 75 minutes.

Escape Room Aurum is suitable for players aged 18 and above. Aurum is not a horror room, but some moments can still be too intense for children. That's why this escape room is for adults only.
